Mrs. Metzger's Page

Mrs. Metzger has been teaching in District 13 since 1998.  She has a bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a master's degree in Clarinet Performance from DePaul University in Chicago, where she studied clarinet with Julie DeRoche and Larry Combs.

 

Band in District 13 is taught in grades 5 through 8.  Concert Band (for 7th and 8th graders) meets before school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  Cadet Band (for 6th grade students) meets before school on Mondays and Thursday. 

Beginner Band meets after school on Thursday afternoons starting in January.

 

Instrumental lessons for each instrument occur during the school day once per week.  This portion of the program is a pull-out program.  Schedules are distributed throughout the year, and the schedule rotates so the students do not miss the same academic class each week.
